Now that the last day of academic classes for the St. George School has passed, I'm reaching out about our plans for collection of district technology that has been sent home to support students and families during these weeks of remote learning. We have a few options available: 1. Schedule a time for you to do a no-contact, curbside drop off at the St. George School at this link (https://calendly.com/stgtechcollect2020/15min). 2. Have a no contact pickup from your residence June 18 or 19 after remote Crew activities have completed. More details to follow about specific procedures for this. 3. Mail your device and associated equipment back to St. George MSU, Attn: Paul Meinersmann, 65 Main St, Tenants Harbor, ME 04860 in a well protected package. 4. Make other arrangements with me directly via email/phone. Please complete this form (https://forms.gle/TWWxgJ5LUCRsScn19) to let us know your preference for device collection. It is very important that we get all of our St. George MSU issued equipment returned in a timely manner. We need to do a thorough assessment of all equipment so that we can do repairs, order replacements, and prepare for next school year. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Thank you, Paul — Paul Meinersmann Technology & Makerspace Director p.meinersmann@stgeorgemsu.org 207-975-3043

With the current state of things, we want to remind you that you can fill out a Free & Reduced Meals application at anytime. This program helps us feed our community, costs St. George MSU nothing, and if the percentage of our students who qualify for free or reduced meals exceeds the state average then out school could receive about $150,000 in additional state subsidy. If our percentage falls below the state average then we receive no state subsidy for economically disadvantaged students. You can fill out an application online at https://bit.ly/MSULunchApp or access a paper copy at https://bit.ly/STG-SY2020FRM.

Is it hard to fall asleep at night? Are your kids worried that they will catch the coronavirus? Are you or your kids worried about re-entering into the world? If these worries or any other are taking center stage for you or your kids right now, please consider coming to the parent support group this Thursday the 7th at 8 PM or next Monday the 11th at 3 PM. After checking in, our focus will be anxiety. We will try to explore questions such as What's the difference between stress and anxiety? How do we know when we or our children need more support? What are some concrete strategies to help reduce our children's and our own anxiety? Amy Hufnagel, the school-wide Behavioral Interventionist, will facilitate the meeting. We look forward to the conversation. Complete this Google Form to receive an invitation: https://forms.gle/7fo6Nf8d4uZK8vyXA

Free Internet Offer from Spectrum Spectrum (previously TimeWarner) is making its internet service available for free for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who don’t already have internet through the company. To enroll in the program, call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households. You should expect significant hold times as many families are taking advantage of this offer. Please also be aware that the person on the phone MAY attempt to sell you other services. They may ask if your student is eligible for free or reduced meals. There may be a $5 fee per month to rent their wireless router. You do NOT need to purchase any services, though the wireless router is what allows multiple wireless devices like iPads, tablets or chromebooks to connect. In order to be eligible for free service you must not have an outstanding bill, and you must not have had service provided to your location in the past thirty days. After the sixty day initial offer you must remember to cancel your subscription. You do NOT need a credit card, and you do not need to sign a contract. This is NOT an endorsement of Spectrum, just a sharing of information that may be helpful to our families.
