Dear Parents & Families,
The administrative team would like to make you aware of a concerning and problematic social media trend that is encouraging property damage, vandalism, and theft in schools.
TikTok has created a viral trend promoting “devious licks” meaning devious actions. TikTok users are encouraging one another to perform specific devious licks, such as vandalizing school bathrooms by stealing fixtures, breaking items, and leaving bathrooms a mess.
We have had several incidents of our bathrooms being a mess, and items being stolen or broken since school started.
Please take the time to read the NY Times article further detailing this concerning trend. Please have a conversation with your children about this trend. Until the vandalism stops we will be limiting what bathrooms are available to students and using a sign-in/out system for bathroom use.
