The School Board will hold an Emergency Meeting this Wednesday, June 7 at 6 p.m. at St. George School to recommend voters authorize through a referendum vote the construction of the CTE/Makerspace Building at a cost not to exceed $3,500,000, with 100% of construction costs funded through donations and grants.

The referendum vote will take place this August.  To meet all of the timelines for the referendum, the Board needed to meet this week.

The referendum we held last summer authorized us to spend up to $1,500,000 on the CTE/Makerspace Building (again, all construction costs covered through private donations and grants).  However, we learned last fall and over the winter that the cost of the project - even after redesigning the building and substantial value engineering - will be more than the amount voters originally approved.

You can attend the Emergency School Board Meeting on Wednesday (6/7) at 6 p.m. in person at St. George School or via Zoom.  For Zoom login information, please contact Superintendent Mike Felton at m.felton@stgeorgemsu.org or 207.372.6312.
