Flower Arrangement
On May 11th, Michelle Young, a local florist, and owner of Seafarer Floral visited our school to show seventh and eighth graders the beauty of flower arrangement. She taught those who signed up the names of flowers, how to arrange them, how to cut them, and more. She showed up with a wide variety of flowers, food, and a warm smile— making discomfort that anyone may have felt, melt away. The time we spent with Michelle was unintentionally but perfectly scheduled before Mother’s Day; giving all of us something fun to do and something nice to give. With all that in mind, I’m extremely grateful to have learned what I did from Michelle, she was extremely kind and very open. If anyone gets a chance to arrange flowers at any point, especially if it’s with Michelle, I completely recommend it.
