Bus Run Changes: This afternoon & tomorrow

Dear Families,

We had an unexpected driver absence and will need to adjust bus runs for this afternoon (Monday, May 15) as well as tomorrow morning and afternoon (Tuesday, May 16).  As I've shared in the past,  due to a critical shortage of bus drivers and substitute drivers, if even one driver is out we have to delay and cancel runs.

This afternoon (Monday, May 15), changes to bus runs will impact students who ride the afternoon Eeyore bus (students who live north of the school), PreK bus, and Camden Hills bus.  If there is anyway families can arrange rides for children in PreK-8 this afternoon, that will help us get all students home sooner. More details are below:

  1. May 15 afternoon PreK Run: Canceled
  2. May 15 afternoon Camden run: Delayed - bus will arrive at CHRHS @ 3:20 p.m.
  3. May 15 afternoon Eeyore bus run:
    1. Students who live on 131 north of the school dismissed at regular time (2:30 p.m.)
    2. Students who live on Kinney Woods Rd., Dennison Rd., and Spruce Head Village dismissed at 3 p.m.
    3. Students who live on Rt 73, Clark Island Rd., Dennison Rd., and Cline Rd., will be dismissed at 3:20 p.m.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, May 16) both the morning AND afternoon runs will be impacted.  Tomorrow's afternoon runs will be the same as today.  Tomorrow morning, changes will impact the Camden and Oceanside runs as these runs will be combined:

  • Tuesday, May 16 Camden/ OHS combined run
    • 7:45 a.m. @ 47 Main St. parking lot
    • 8:00 @ Wiley's Corner Mailboxes
    • 8:15 @ Oceanside
    • 8:40 @ Camden Hills

We apologize for this inconvenience.  Again, if you can provide transportation for your PreK-8 child this afternoon or tomorrow, that will help us get students home sooner. Thank you for your help!  If you have questions, please contact Transportation Director Randy Elwell (r.elwell@stgeorgemsu.org).

We are actively working to find drivers and substitute drivers.  We are advertising in local newspapers and reaching out to individuals.  If you know of anyone who may be interested in driving bus - even on a substitute basis -  please let Randy or me know.  Bus driver and substitute bus driver job postings and applications are available on our website.
