Veterans Day Assembly

Each year, the School Board submits an article for the annual Town Report that provides an update on our school district - our successes, challenges, and vision for the future.  You can view our annual update here.  A few highlights from the report are below:

  • Vision & Mission: St. George MSU is a community school district and the heart and strength of our district is the community of St. George.  Our mission is to do whatever it takes to ensure that every single student thrives and to contribute to the vitality and resiliency of the Town of St. George.
  • 304 Students: We have 212 at St. George School and 92 high school students.
  • 1st PreK Class: This year, St. George School welcomed it's first PreK class of 17 four-year-olds.
  • Band is Back: Under the leadership of Band/Music Teacher Kirstie Brown, we held our first Winter Concert in 3 years. The Band now includes 49 students in grades 5th-8th.
  • 2 Champions: The STEAM Powered Dragons won the Championship Finalist Award in Maine's FIRST Lego League Championship.  The UNDEFEATED St. George Boys Middle Level Basketball Team won the 2023-23 Busline League Championship.
  • $1.6 Million raised for the CTE/Makerspace Building: We have 23 business sponsors, sold more than 300 bricks, and received private donations - from students selling eggs on the side of the road to individuals writing checks for $100,00 and more -  totaling about $1,000,000.
  • "I know we are all strongly committed to our students, to one another, and to our community at large."  Response from a St. George MSU staff member on the Fall Staff Survey.
  • We are grateful to all the staff, parents, and community members who constantly step up to help us not only meet the needs of students, but also stretch people’s imaginations as to what’s possible in public education.  Our heart, our strength, is you – the people who come together as a community to care for our children, families, neighbors, and one another.

Sincerely,

Mike Felton, Superintendent
